Indonesia’s Largest Trade Expo Returns for Its 40th Edition

Jakarta, February 20 – Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. (HC) Ir. Airlangga Hartarto, MBA, MMT, together with Minister of Trade, Dr. Budi Santoso, M.Si, officially launched Indonesia’s largest trade exhibition, the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI), at the Ministry of Trade office in Jakarta. Carrying the theme “Discover Indonesia’s Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries”, the 40th TEI reflects the government's commitment to expanding global markets while strengthening Indonesia’s image on the international stage. The 40th TEI is scheduled to take place on October 15–19, 2025, at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE), Bumi Serpong Damai (BSD) City, Tangerang Regency, Banten. Entering its 40th edition, TEI has become a vital meeting point for local business players, buyers, and stakeholders from around the world to engage in trade and investment.

The launch was also attended by several high-ranking officials, including Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI), H. Abdul Kadir Karding, S.Pi., M.Si.; Deputy Minister of Trade, Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri, B.A., M.Sc.; Deputy Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Helvi Yuni Moraza, S.E., M.A.; and President Director of Bank Mandiri, Darmawan Junaidi.

In his speech, Minister for Economic Affairs, Dr. (HC) Ir. Airlangga Hartarto, MBA, MMT, expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Trade for consistently organizing TEI over the years. He emphasized that increasing exports would significantly contribute to Indonesia’s economic growth. “With broader global market access, we hope that TEI can become a driving force for national exports,” he stated.

Minister of Trade, Dr. Budi Santoso, M.Si, stated that this year’s exhibition aims for a transaction target of USD 16.5 billion. Additionally, the 40th TEI is expected to feature approximately 1,500 exhibitors and attract more than 5,000 buyers from various countries, with a total of 30,000 visitors.

The products showcased at the 40th TEI will be categorized into three main zones:
  1. Food, Beverages & Agriculture Products
  2. Manufactured Products
  3. Services, Lifestyle, and Others

One of the key innovations in the 40th TEI is the introduction of the BISA Ekspor Pavilion (UMKM Berani Inovasi, Siap Adaptasi Ekspor), which provides a platform for micro, small, and medium enterprises to showcase their top-quality products in the international market.

The launch of the 40th TEI was attended by key figures, including Secretary-General of the Ministry of Trade, Drs. Isy Karim, M.Si.; Director General of National Export Development, Fajarini Puntodewi, S.H., M.Si.; and Expert Staff to the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) for Finance and MSME Development, Loto Srinaita Ginting. Also present were the President Director of PT Debindomulti Adhiswasti, Vibiadhi Swasti Pradana, B.Com., MTIM, representatives from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), various business associations, and exporters. Attending virtually were Indonesian Ambassadors, Consuls General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI), and trade representatives in their respective accreditation areas.

With its innovative approach and ambitious targets, the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia is expected to serve as a strategic platform for Indonesia to expand its global business network and enhance the competitiveness of its exports.
